BME Students

College Life

Peterhouse has become more progressive and inclusive over the years with the introduction of an Ethnic Minorities Officer on the JCR Committee as a permanent position three years ago to represent BME (Black and Minority Ethnicities) students to college. This officer can offer welfare advice and be an empathetic person in college if you ever feel isolated or alone in the very white world of Cambridge. We send weekly round-ups of BME related news, including talks, theatre and specific society events, so that there is always something that you can do if you want some downtime. There is still plenty more work left to do in terms of race in Cambridge, but we want to ensure that we are part of this change moving forward.
