PETERHOUSE JCR
Peterhouse is the oldest college of the University of Cambridge, established in 1284 by the Bishop of Ely. Being the
smallest college by student population, we have a close-knit community of approximately 200 undergraduates, who
constitute the JCR! We make up for smaller numbers with our beautiful Deer Park - one of the loveliest green spaces
for the use of students and frequented by all kinds of wildlife (but sadly, no deer). The wonderful Ward Library
serves as the college’s working library, and the proximity of the Grad Café offers a lovely coffee break with a scenic
view of the River Cam! Next door to the Department for Engineering, Faculty of Architecture and History of Art, as
well as a short walk from the Downing and Sidgwick sites, Peterhouse is a wonderfully located college - close enough
to nip into town, but not in the middle of all the tourist rush either. Peterhouse strives to be a welcoming,
inclusive and supportive place to study and live, with help from the lovely JCR Committee and college staff.
