Peterhouse has an active community of college societies that offer all kinds of regular talks and activities. Options range from listening to speakers such as international ambassadors at the Peterhouse Politics Society to joining in the friendly madness of the Bad Film Society. To give just a taster of what goes on, we’ve recently had Nobel Laureate John Gurdon speaking about his research on stem cells as part of our Kelvin Science Club, a conversation with renowned art historian and feminist Griselda Pollock at the Beard Society as well as the resurgence of our student-run college newspaper, The Dodo. Peterhouse also includes an active Christian Union, a theatre group and numerous music societies. The welcoming choirs and orchestras cater for performers of all abilities; furthermore, Peterhouse students can attend concerts in college from world-renowned musicians for just £5 (normal price: £40). Peterhouse particularly benefits from a wonderful community of friendly but dedicated singers in the form of our Chapel Choir; in addition to performing regularly at college services, the Chapel Choir has also sung at destinations including Amsterdam, Venice and Westminster Abbey. The Chapel Choir website can be found here.
